Privacy
What happens to what you do here. Short, because not much happens.
This site is a pile of files on a server. No database, no login, no content management system. That was not a principled decision, but it does help: where nothing is kept, nothing can leak.
What I do not do
No cookies. No analytics. No tracking pixels, no ad scripts, no social buttons watching over your shoulder. I have no idea how many visitors this site gets, and I have no idea who you are.
There is no newsletter and no form either, so there is nowhere here to leave your details.
What does get recorded
My host keeps ordinary server logs: your IP address, the time, which page you asked for and which browser asked for it. Every website does this, and it is what you need to spot outages and abuse. I do not look at them unless something is broken.
How long those logs are kept is my host’s decision, not mine. I have no separate agreement about it, so I am not going to state a retention period I cannot stand behind.
The type comes from Google
The fonts on this site load from Google Fonts, which sends your IP address to Google whether you want anything to do with them or not. That is the only third party this site involves, and it is the weakest paragraph on this page. Hosting the fonts myself is on the list. Once it is done, it will say so here.
The instrument
Whatever you enter on the Model choice page stays in your browser. There is no server to send it to, so it does not get sent. Refresh the page and it is gone. Download the report and that file sits on your machine and nowhere else.
The chat window
This is the part where something does leave. What you type into NotAHuman goes to a layer I run, and from there to the vendor of the language model. So do not put anything confidential in it: no customer names, no personal data, nothing out of a file. The same is true of every chat window on every site, whether it says so or not.
To stop one person draining the thing, a count of how many questions come from an IP address is kept briefly. That is a counter, not a transcript.
At the time you read this the window does not work yet, so nothing goes that way either. The page itself explains how it works and why.
If you want to know something, or want something removed
Email me. For anything in the server logs I have to go to my host, and I will do that for you.
I am not a lawyer and this is not a legal document. It is an honest description of what happens, and it is accurate on the date at the top.
